Concrete CMS 9.5.7: maintenance release advisory
Concrete CMS 9.5.7 was released on 20 October. It fixes several problems in earlier versions, rather than introducing major new features.
If you update your own website, the changes most likely to affect you are:
- Page styling: fixes custom styles becoming mixed between saved page versions, and styles not working correctly in shared areas.
- Email and telephone links: fixes problems adding these through the Social Links block.
- Moving pages: resolves an issue that could leave conflicting canonical URLs—the addresses used to identify pages to search engines.
- Multilingual content: restores missing translations in reusable content blocks.
There are also fixes for page-type editing, installation and upgrades.
Do you need to update?
The release announcement lists no security advisories, so this is a planned maintenance update rather than an emergency security patch. It is particularly relevant if you have encountered any of the problems above.
As with any CMS update, compatibility with your theme and add-ons should be checked before applying it to your live website.
If Datasouth maintains your website, we can advise on whether the update is relevant and arrange it through your normal maintenance process.
