There are four main phases to our development process, Needs analysis; design and specification; production and build; and final testing and QA.
Each project has a dedicated Project Manager and creative team who see the project through from proposal stage to ‘go live’. While the PM is responsible for co-ordinating and driving the project forward, input from each team member is used to make sure we produce the best result for you.
As we begin, we want to have a clear understanding of what you need and more importantly what your intended audience needs and expects from your website. We will conduct research based on your target audience and investigate what your competitors are doing (well) to make sure we attract and retain visitors to your site. We will also define our requirement in further detail, re-stating specific objectives and identifying usability goals so all parties involved are in agreement on the basic scope of the project.
One of our designers will create the visual look-and-feel based on the new site architecture. At the same time, a functional specification for the project will be prepared, supported by a working design prototype. As a result, you and your colleagues will be able to visualise the project deliverables and understand how the functional specification relates to the prototypes. At this stage firm timelines for the construction and implementation of the project will be provided.
Now it’s over to us. This is where our development team do the really clever stuff by putting the creative design together with the functionality to produce your website as detailed in the specification. The site will be completed at the end of this phase ready for user acceptance testing.
This is where the final testing and tweaking happens. The site is handed over to you on our staging servers so you can use the site and make sure it meets your expectations. We suggest you create your own test plan based on the specification and on your user personas to ensure thorough usability testing is carried out before the site is released for public consumption. Once the required tweaks have been made and tested, the site is then launched onto the Internet hopefully on the back of a clear marketing strategy to ensure the best return for your investment.
Although delivery of your website is the end of the project, we hope it does not mean the end of our relationship. The Internet is a dynamic world and we want to continue to work with you to ensure the website continues to grow with your business.
